Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, will resume direct passenger flights between Abu Dhabi and Beijing from 29 June 2022, becoming the first regular direct international passenger flight to recommence for Beijing, under the latest mandate of the Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism of the State Council.

Emirates to operate extra flights for upcoming Hajj season

Emirates is deploying extra flights to ensure more connectivity for the scores of pilgrims making their way to the Holy City of Makkah. Emirates will be operating special flights to Jeddah and Medina during the upcoming Hajj season to carry pilgrims for this special period.Emirates will be deploying 31 additional flights to Jeddah and double daily flights to Medina from 23 June to 20 July to help transport pilgrims to carry out one of the key pillars of Islam. These services will run in parallel with Emirates’ regularly scheduled services.

Singapore Airlines (SIA) has unveiled its all-new flagship SilverKris and KrisFlyer Gold lounges at Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 3, following a S$50 million re-design, upgrade, and expansion project. This will further enhance the on-ground customer experience at the Airline’s main hub, and comes as the demand for international air travel from and through Singapore takes off once again.The Private Room, the First Class section of the SilverKris Lounge, the Business Class section of the SilverKris Lounge, and the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge can collectively accommodate around 1,150 customers within their 6,100 square-metres, translating to 30% more seats and space. This also doubles the capacity that was available during the pandemic while the upgrading works were going on.

They can then immediately proceed to the flight upon arrival at Abu Dhabi International Airport.

Etihad : to lift Covid waiver policy as international travel resumes

With international travel returning to normal, Etihad Airways is lifting its Covid-19 waiver policy for bookings from 1 June 2022. This is a planned change, communicated earlier in the year, comes with the improving pandemic situation globally. For all tickets issued or reissued up to 31 May 2022, all travel must be completed by 30 September 2022. Refunds under the Covid-19 policy must be completed by 31 May 2022.

Emirates: heralds return to Bali

Emirates landed in Bali for the first time since the suspension of flights in 2020 due to the pandemic. Emirates flight EK398 landed in Denpasar International Airport on 1 May, and was welcomed by a spectacular water cannon salute to inaugurate the airline’s return. flydubai : to operate flights from Dubai World Central

flydubai will operate flights to selected destinations from Dubai World Central (DWC) for a 45-day period from 09 May to 22 June 2022 during the northern runway refurbishment project at Dubai International. At DWC, passengers will continue to benefit from all the convenient travel services offered by flydubai. Flights to all other flydubai destinations will continue to operate from Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 at Dubai International (DXB). Passengers are advised to check their departure and arrival airports in advance of travel to ensure they have the correct information. This information is available on flydubai.com, the Manage Booking Section on flydubai.com and will be clearly mentioned on the booking confirmations.

Lufthansa : Airbus A350 “Munich” - first aircraft with upgraded Business Class

Munich has a new flying ambassador. a Lufthansa Airbus A350-900 with the registration D-AIVC was christened today at Munich Airport by the Bavarian Minister President Dr. Markus Söder. In his address, Carsten Spohr, Chairman of the Executive Board and CEO of Deutsche Lufthansa AG said: “The A350 is the quietest and most fuel-efficient long-haul aircraft in our fleet. Qantas : to conquer final frontier of long-haul travel

Australia’s national carrier has confirmed an order for 12 Airbus A350-1000s to conquer the final frontier of long-haul travel and enable non-stop flights to Australia from any city including New York and London from late 2025. Codenamed Project Sunrise for the airline’s long history of endurance flying, Qantas has also shared preliminary concepts for its A350 cabin of the future that will offer a new level of comfort for all passengers on these direct flights that will cut up to four hours off total travel time compared with one-stop options today.

flydubai : adds Izmir to its growing network in Turkey

flydubai, the Dubai-based airline, announced today the launch of flights to Izmir in Turkey starting from 26 June with a three-times weekly service. Flights to Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport (ADB) will operate from Terminal 2 at Dubai International (DXB) on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. With the start of flights to Izmir, flydubai’s network in Turkey will grow to four points including Ankara (ESB), Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW) and Istanbul Airport (IST). flydubai will also operate summer seasonal routes to Bodrum (BJV) and Trabzon (TZX) frpm 23 June to offer passengers more options to travel this summer.
