QANTAS: Airline to resume flights between Australian states of Victoria and Tasmania

The airline has announced that it will resume flights on three domestic Australian routes from 27 November, with 14 weekly return services between Melbourne and Launceston, 13 between Melbourne and Hobart and 12 between Melbourne and Devonport. With the increase in flying, Qantas will also re-open its Club Lounge in Hobart and regional lounges in Devonport and Launceston from 2 December.

UNITED KINGDOM: Country's government exempts United Arab Emirates travellers from 14-day arrival quarantine

The UK government has added passengers from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to its list of countries exempt from a 14-day arrival quarantine requirement in place to stop the spread of COVID-19. It means that, from 04.00 (GMT) today, 14 November, arrivals from the UAE will no longer have to quarantine for two weeks on arrival in the UK. Alongside the UAE, the UK also added the quarantine exemption for those arriving from Iceland, Chile, Laos, Cambodia, the Turks and Caicos Islands, Bahrain and Qatar.

GREECE: Country now requires negative COVID-19 PCR test results from all arrivals

The country's government has announced that from tomorrow, 9 November, all travellers entering Greece will be required to present a negative COVID-19 PCR test result, obtained a maximum of 48 hours before their entry to Greece by air, or 72 hours before their entry to Greece by land. Additionally, all travellers entering Greece by air must complete a 'Passenger Locator Form' (PLF) 48 hours prior to arrival.

DENMARK: Country places northern regions in to COVID-19 lockdown

The country's government has placed more than a quarter of a million of the population into a COVID-19 lockdown as of 6 November, in a northern region of the country where a mutated variation of COVID-19 has infected a farmed population of minks. In seven northern Denmark municipalities with some 280,000 residents, sport and cultural activities have been suspended, public transportation has been stopped and regional borders have been closed. SWITZERLAND: Country's government to reduce cross-border train services

The country’s government announced yesterday, 5 November, that it is cutting the number of trains running to neighbouring Italy, Germany and France amid partial COVID-19 lockdowns in each of those destinations. UNITED STATES: Country's government updates COVID-19 test requirements for Washington DC from 9 November 2020

The country's government has said that most out-of-state visitors from 'high-risk' locations must now present a negative COVID-19 test result prior to arriving in Washington DC; however, they will no longer be required to self-isolate for 14 days. IRELAND: Ireland to phase in EU 'traffic light' travel system from 8 November 2020

The government of Ireland has announced that it will start implementing the European Union’s ‘traffic light’ system for non-essential EU travellers such as tourists from 8 November, easing current restrictions which represent some of the bloc’s tightest. In line with EU guidance, the so-called ‘green' list will remain, but those arriving from regions designated 'orange' will not need to restrict their movements if they produce a negative COVID-19 PCR test result from a test taken up to three days before arrival. The requirement for ‘red’ country arrivals to quarantine for 14 days remains, but the government plans that within a short number of weeks this too can be waived following a negative test result taken five days after arrival. Children under six will be exempt and arrivals will have to pay for their own test.
