SLOVENIA: Further border restrictions to be lifted from 15 June 2020

The country will re-open its borders for citizens of Montenegro and neighbouring Italy on 15 June, the government said in a statement today. Since May it has already re-opened its borders to visitors from 17 countries including neighbouring Croatia, Hungary and Austria.

TURKEY: International borders to re-open from 12 June 2020

From today the Turkish government has started to re-open its international land, sea and air borders. All passengers, of all nationalities, who meet immigration rules are permitted entry and scheduled passenger flights will now resume on an individual country basis.

BRITISH AIRWAYS: Executive Club member tier status extended for one year

The airline has announced that the tier status for Executive Club members has been extended for a full year, as of today, as a thank you for the loyalty of their customers. The number of Tier Points needed to reach each tier (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Gold Guest List) will also reduce by 25% for the year after the 12-month extension.

FINLAND: Border restrictions on most neighbouring countries to be lifted on 15 June 2020

The country's government said today that it will lift COVID-19 related restrictions on leisure travel to and from neighbouring Baltic and Nordic countries on 15 June. The changes will apply to visitors from Denmark, Iceland and Norway, as well as Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania - however Sweden will be excluded at this time.

TURKISH AIRLINES: Flights resume to London Heathrow from 11 June 2020

From today, the airline will resume a twice-daily service between Istanbul Airport and London Heathrow. Flight TK1979 will depart from Istanbul at 08.20 each morning; the return service, TK1980, will depart London Heathrow at 12.50.

MALTA: International flights to resume from 1 July 2020

Malta International Airport is set to re-open from 1 July, with flights initially resuming from 19 destinations. Arriving passengers who have proof of residence from those qualifying countries will not be required to self-isolate.

SLOVENIA: Visitors now permitted from 14 countries without restrictions

From today, the country has opened its borders to citizens of 14 states, including Germany and Switzerland, who can now travel to and from Slovenia without restrictions. The other countries are Greece, Bulgaria, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Slovakia and Liechtenstein.

CZECH REPUBLIC: New entry requirement system announced

The country's government has announced a new system of entry requirements effective from 15 June, with different rules for entry into the country according to three categories of countries; high, medium and low risk. This system applies to all EU countries and five other European countries including the UK. A list of those countries can be found on the Czech Ministry of Health website.

ETIHAD: Airline to resume further transit services from 10 June 2020

Etihad Airways announced today that it will resume carrying transit passengers via its Abu Dhabi hub from 20 destination cities in Europe, Asia and Australia from 10 June; this follows a lifting of a previous suspension on those flights by the UAE government.

EMIRATES: Flights to an additional 16 destinations due to resume from 15 June 2020

Emirates has announced today that from 15 June, flights and transit services will be resumed between Dubai International Airport and a further 16 cities. Flights will shortly be available to Bahrain, Manchester, Zurich, Vienna, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Dublin, New York JFK, Seoul, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Jakarta, Taipei, Hong Kong, Perth and Brisbane.

CYPRUS: Border restrictions to be eased from 9 June 2020

From 9 June, arrivals for the purposes of tourism are to be allowed from a limited number of countries that fall under the classification of 'low-risk'. Anyone who is resident in, or has visited, countries outside of this classification in the last 14 days will not be permitted to enter - even via a third country such as Greece.

AUSTRIA: Border restrictions with most neighbouring countries to be lifted from 4 June 2020

Austria's foreign minister today announced the acceleration of a plan to re-open the country's borders to all neighbouring countries except Italy, as of 4 June 2020. All COVID-19 related border restrictions and health checks in relation to Germany, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Slovakia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic and Hungary will no longer apply.

LATVIA: Border restrictions eased for most European arrivals from 3 June 2020

Latvia has today opened its borders to arrivals from most European without requiring visitors to self-isolate. However the UK, Portugal, Belgium, Malta, Spain and Ireland are not included, and any arrivals who have visited these countries in the last 14 days will still be required to self-isolate.

KLM: Airline to restore flights to 73 destinations by July 2020

The airline announced today that by July it intends to restore services to 73 destinations, which is more than double the number of routes flown in May. Destinations in Europe will include Alicante, Bilbao, Bologna, Ibiza, Istanbul, Nice, Porto, Catania and Split; also considered will be long haul services including to Jakarta, Denpasar, Washington D.C., San Francisco, Vancouver and Calgary, depending on the easing of travel restrictions.

SINGAPORE AIRLINES: Flights to 12 cities will be reinstated in June and July 2020

Singapore Airlines and regional wing SilkAir will reinstate certain flights in June and July, subject to regulatory approvals. Reinstated scheduled services include flights to Adelaide, Amsterdam, Auckland, Barcelona, Brisbane, Cebu, Christchurch, Copenhagen, Hong Kong, Medan, Melbourne and Osaka.
