          JORDAN: Country to re-open to some international arrivals from 5 August 2020

          The country has announced that it is re-opening its borders to visitors from select countries on 5 August; emerging from one of the strictest lockdowns in the Middle East, Jordan's borders and international airports have been closed since March. Similar to other destinations, the country is using a traffic light system of green, yellow and red to indicate which visitors will be able to enter the country without having to quarantine.

          EMIRATES: Airline to resume flights to Clark, Philippines from 1 August 2020

          The Dubai-based airline has announced that from 1 August they will resume six weekly flights to Clark in the Philippines. This will boost the airline’s global network to 68 destinations in August across Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific and Africa.

          QATAR AIRWAYS: Airline moves London Heathrow operations to Terminal 5

          From 27 July, Qatar Airways have moved all operations at London Heathrow from Terminal 2 to Terminal 5. This is a temporary measure in response to runway management by the airport during a period of significantly fewer flights, as a direct result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

          UAE: All international arrivals to require prior COVID-19 testing from 1 August 2020

          From 1 August all passengers travelling to the United Arab Emirates from any destination, including those transiting in Dubai or Abu Dhabi, must have a negative COVID-19 PCR test result from a qualifying facility in order to be accepted on the flight at check-in. The test must be taken within 96 hours of departure, and only passengers under the age of 12 or those who have a moderate to severe disability will be excluded from this requirement. In addition to this, also from 1 August, passengers from 29 selected countries must also be subject to a second test on arrival via a nasal swab.

          EMIRATES: Passenger COVID-19 pre-testing requirements from 1 August 2020

          The Dubai-based airline has released further information following the announcement that, from 1 August, all passengers flying to or via Dubai International Airport must hold a valid, negative COVID-19 PCR test result taken less than 96 hours prior to departure in order to be accepted for their flight at check-in. If a UAE-endorsed testing facility is available in the passenger's country of origin, they must obtain the test result from that facility accordingly; if an approved facility is not listed, any registered practitioner able to provide PCR testing will be accepted.

          RWANDAIR: Rwanda's national airline to resume operations in August 2020

          Rwanda's flag-carrying airline RwandAir will resume commercial passenger services from 1 August; flights will restart with select African routes where travel restrictions have been eased and borders have re-opened. Flights to the long-haul destination of Dubai will also recommence with a thrice-weekly service, and more destinations will gradually be added to the network as countries continue to lift restrictions.

          ETIHAD: Passenger COVID-19 pre-testing requirements from 1 August 2020

          The Abu Dhabi-based airline has released further information following the announcement that, from 1 August, all passengers flying to or via Abu Dhabi International Airport must hold a valid, negative COVID-19 PCR test result taken less than 96 hours prior to departure in order to be accepted for their flight at check-in. If an airline-endorsed 'Pure Health' testing facility is available in the passenger's country of origin, they must obtain the test result from that facility accordingly; a database of all eligible facilities, searchable by destination, is available on the airline website.

          EMIRATES: Airline to cover passengers' COVID-19 medical expenses

          The Dubai-based airline has announced that it will cover medical expenses of up to EUR 150,000 and quarantine costs of EUR 100 per day for 14 days, should passengers diagnosed with COVID-19 during their travel, while they are away from home. This cover is to be provided free of cost to all passengers and is is immediately effective for customers flying with Emirates until 31 October 2020; it is valid for 31 days from the moment they fly the first sector of their journey.

          ETIHAD: Airline issues reminder on COVID-19 testing requirements for travel to Abu Dhabi

          The airline have posted an advisory and reminder regarding COVID-19 PCR testing; if Etihad's hub of Abu Dhabi is a passenger’s final destination, they must have a negative test result issued by an ICA-approved medical facility within 72 hours prior to departure, available to present at check-in for their flight at the destination of origin.

          QATAR AIRWAYS: Airline resumes flights to two Turkish destinations from 23 July 2020

          From today, the middle-eastern airline has resumed twice-weekly flights to the Turkish destinations of Antalya and Bodrum. They have also announced that by the end of this month they will have resumed operations via 450 weekly flights to more than 70 destinations.

          SWITZERLAND: Country to expand COVID-19 quarantine watch list

          The country's government has announced that they have expanded to 42 the number of countries on its COVID-19 watch list, from which new arrivals must enter a 10-day quarantine. New entries as of tomorrow, 23 July include Bosnia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Eswatini, Guatemala, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Luxembourg, Maldives, Mexico, Montenegro, the Palestinian territories, Suriname and the United Arab Emirates. Belarus and Sweden, however, are to be removed.

          BRITISH AIRWAYS: Airline to change terminal for flights from Dubai International Airport

          From 18 July, British Airways will be resuming flights from Dubai International Airport; services will operate from Terminal 3, rather than Terminal 1 as they did previously.

          The Abu Dhabi-based airline has announced that they are now set to operate flights to 10 cities in the Middle East and Africa throughout July and August. From 1 August this will include flights to Amman, Casablanca, Muscat, Rabat, Riyadh and Seychelles.

          RWANDAIR: Airline to resume operations from 1 August 2020

          Rwanda's national airline have announced that they will resume flights on 1 August to select routes within Africa, where border restrictions are currently not prohibitive. They will also resume services to Dubai International Airport.

          IRAQ: Country to re-open airports from 23 July 2020

          Iraq's government announced on 16 July that the country will re-open its airports for scheduled international traffic on 23 July, after suspending regular commercial flights in March because of the COVID-19 outbreak. The country will also lift a nationwide night-time curfew after the Muslim holiday of Eid Al-Adha, and re-open restaurants and malls as long as they implement certain measures.

          JORDAN: Country to re-open to commercial flights from August 2020

          The government of Jordan announced on 16 July that it will partially resume commercial flights from August to a limited number of European and Asian countries on an internationally approved safe list; the list currently includes Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Greece, Hong Kong and Thailand.

          ETIHAD AIRWAYS: Airline to resume special passenger flights between Abu Dhabi and six Indian cities

          Following the partial lifting of international flight restrictions by the United Arab Emirates and India, Etihad Airways will resume a limited number of special flights to six Indian gateways.           KUWAIT: Country's health ministry advises against international travel

          Kuwait's government has announced in a statement on Twitter that it advises its citizens and residents against travelling overseas at the moment due to the instability of the COVID-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, last month Kuwait’s communications office said that commercial flights at Kuwait International Airport will resume from 1 August.
