BOLIVIA: Short-term emergency measures imposed in La Paz from 16-19 July 2020

Short-term additional safety measures will apply in Bolivia's department of La Paz, which includes the city of La Paz, from 16-19 July; this is in addition to controls on weekday movement that have been imposed in the city since 23 June. Until 19 July, visitors and residents will not be allowed outside unless travelling in a medical emergency, or to catch a humanitarian repatriation flight.

RUSSIA: Country begins to lift international flight restrictions from 15 July 2020

From 15 July, Russia has started to lift further restrictions on international flights with some countries. All foreign arrivals are now asked to provide a medical certificate to prove they have either tested negative for COVID-19 or tested positive for COVID-19-related antibodies. Arriving passengers are also no longer required to quarantine unless they are experiencing symptoms.

AUSTRALIA: Northern Territory issues pre-arrival border crossing application

All people travelling to the Northern Territory must now complete an arrival border-crossing application. If you are intending to travel to the Northern Territory from an identified COVID-19 hot spot, or reside in the Northern Territory and are intending to travel to a hot spot, you are advised to cancel your plans. If you previously held an exemption to travel from a hot spot this is revoked effective immediately.

UNITED STATES: Hawaii delays domestic tourism until 1 September 2020

The state government of Hawaii have announced in a press conference that it will not ease restrictions on out-of-state U.S travelers until at least 1 September, a month later than previously planned. The decision, which was made due to a reported surge in cases of COVID-19 in both Hawaii and the U.S mainland, means that a 14-day quarantine requirement for out-of-state tourists who test negative for the virus will remain in place until the new deadline.

UNITED KINGDOM: British nationals permitted to travel to Malta from 15 July 2020

The UK's Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) has reported that from today, 15 July, the UK has been included in a list of countries from which flights are permitted to land in Malta, and arrivals from the have been added to a list of those exempt from self-isolation, as long as they can provide evidence of residing in the UK or another exempt country for 14 days prior to travel.

ETIHAD AIRWAYS: Airline to resume special passenger flights between Abu Dhabi and six Indian cities

NORWAY: Country re-opens borders to arrivals from most European countries

From 15 July, Norway is allowing entry for passengers who are resident in most Schengen and European Union/European Economic Area countries, which currently also includes the UK. UNITED KINGDOM: England to make face coverings mandatory in more public places from 24 July 2020

FRANCE: Country places restrictions on flights by Chinese airlines

The government of France announced on 13 July that, with immediate effect, it has started to restrict Chinese airlines to one passenger flight per week, in a move seen to be a retaliatory response to curbs imposed by Beijing on French airlines; discussions between the two governments reportedly remain in motion, with an aim to reach a more satisfactory mutual decision.
