PARAGUAY: Country's government to increase restrictions for UK passengers from 21 December 2020

The country's government has announced that from 21 December 2020 until 4 January 2021, the following additional restrictions will be in place; firstly, entry to Paraguay by non-resident foreign nationals that have visited the UK since 7 December is not permitted. In addition, arrivals to Paraguay from the UK between 14 December and 21 December should isolate at home for seven days from their arrival date. The restrictions have been introduced in response to the discovery of a new strain of COVID-19 within parts of the UK.

The UK government has announced that further regions within England will move to COVID-19 tier ‘three’ from tomorrow, 19 December. This includes Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Hertfordshire, parts of Surrey, East Sussex, Cambridgeshire and Hampshire. AUSTRALIA: State governments impose increased COVID-19 restrictions after outbreak in New South Wales (NSW)

The governments of some Australian states have re-imposed increased COVID-19 restrictions following the confirmation of a clustered outbreak of the virus in New South Wales' (NSW) northern beaches. The state of Queensland has also recorded three new cases of COVID-19 and has declared NSW's northern beaches a 'hotspot'. The state of Tasmania has closed its border to anyone who has been in the same on or since 11 December, and the states of Victoria and the Northern Territory have asked people who have been on the northern beaches to quarantine for 14 days. The state of Western Australia has gone one step further and imposed this restriction on anyone arriving from the state of New South Wales (NSW) as a whole. More to come.

POLAND: Country to enter strict national COVID-19 ‘quarantine’ from 28 December 2020

The country’s government has announced that Poland will enter a national ‘quarantine’ from 28 December to 17 January which will include the closure of hotels and shopping malls. No new restrictions are due to be imposed for Christmas, however in addition to the measures from 28 December, a New Year’s Eve curfew from 19.00 to 06.00 (local time) has also been announced, and anyone returning to the country by public transport must quarantine for 10 days.
