          UAE: Citizens and residents permitted to travel from 23 June 2020

          The UAE government announced today that citizens and residents are to be allowed to travel to specific destinations as of 23 June. A list of the destinations, the groups authorized to travel and the procedures that must be adhered to will be announced shortly, according to state news agency WAM.

          SPAIN: United Kingdom included in list of countries permitted entry from 21 June 2020

          The British embassy in Spain confirmed today that British citizens will be allowed to travel to the country when it opens its borders on 21 June. The Spanish government announced yesterday that the re-opening of its borders to most European visitors had been accelerated 10 days earlier than the previously planned date of 1 July.

          BOTSWANA: Capital city COVID-19 lockdown lifted from 15 June 2020

          Botswana today lifted a recently reinstated COVID-19 lockdown on its capital city Gaborone and surrounding areas after most of the cases reported last week turned out to be negative, according to reports from the country’s health department.

          CHINA: Beijing increases COVID-19 measures

          The country's capital has tightened safety measures due to an increase in COVID-19 cases. There are increased testing requirements as well as a mandatory 14 day stay at home notice for anyone who has visited the Xinfadi market, which is thought to be the source of the latest outbreak. In addition, 10 Chinese cities have advised their residents not to travel to the capital.

          SPAIN: Further terminals set to open at major airports

          Spanish airport operator Aena said today that it would re-open Terminal 1 of Madrid’s Barajas Airport on 1 July after three months of closure, while some terminals at Barcelona’s El Prat Airport will re-open through July and August. Barajas’s Terminal 4 was already open, while Barcelona had kept parts of its Terminal 1 open throughout Spain’s COVID-19 border closures.

          UKRAINE: Borders re-open to foreign nationals from 15 June 2020

          The country has today re-opened borders to international arrivals; its national carrier, Ukraine International Airlines, is expected to resume international services within the next week, and currently a 14 day arrival quarantine is still in place until at least 22 June.

          SPAIN: Borders to re-open for Schengen-arrivals on 21 June 2020

          The country will re-open its borders to visitors from Europe’s open-border Schengen area from 21 June, 10 days earlier than previously planned. Visitors from countries outside of the Schengen area will be able to visit Spain from 1 July, subject to their own restrictions.

          ICELAND: Updated entry measures from 15 June 2020

          From 15 June, all passengers arriving in Iceland can chose to be tested for COVID-19 (free of charge until 30 June, and ISK 15,000 per test thereafter) or self-isolate for 14 days upon arrival. A pre-registration form must also be completed before departure.

          SWEDEN: Domestic travel recommendations relaxed from 13 June 2020

          The country has today relaxed its domestic travel recommendations, allowing anyone without COVID-19 symptoms to travel freely within the country for whatever reason, as long as health and safety precautions are taken. Previously, the government has advised against all non-essential journeys by car which take longer than two hours.

          SLOVENIA: Further border restrictions to be lifted from 15 June 2020

          The country will re-open its borders for citizens of Montenegro and neighbouring Italy on 15 June, the government said in a statement today. Since May it has already re-opened its borders to visitors from 17 countries including neighbouring Croatia, Hungary and Austria.

          LEBANON: International flights to Beirut to resume from 1 July 2020

          The country will re-open Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport for scheduled flights from 1 July, but will keep air traffic at 10% of capacity from a year ago, the prime minister's office announced today. Passengers will be tested for COVID-19 upon arrival and instructed to practice home quarantine if testing positive.

          SLOVENIA: Arrival quarantine to be introduced from 13 June 2020

          The country's government said today that from 13 June it will introduce a mandatory 14-day quarantine for most people coming to Slovenia from 31 countries where the situation with COVID-19 has worsened over the past weeks; this includes Sweden, the UK, Russia, United States and Brazil.

          CANADA: Mandatory temperature checks for air passengers to be introduced

          The country announced today that it will take airline passengers’ temperatures before they fly and anyone with a fever will not be allowed to travel. Those arriving in Canada will be screened by the end of June; those leaving the country, as well as domestic travelers, will be screened at the country’s four biggest airports by the end of July.

          FRANCE: Border restrictions for EU travellers to be lifted from 15 June 2020

          The country’s government announced today it will lift restrictions at its borders for EU travellers plus arrivals from Andorra, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Norway, San Marino, and Switzerland from 15 June. Restrictions, though, including a fortnight quarantine upon arrival, will continue to apply at the borders with Spain and with the UK.
