Malta International Airport is set to re-open from 1 July, with flights initially resuming from 19 destinations. Arriving passengers who have proof of residence from those qualifying countries will not be required to self-isolate.

The country's government today announced that international flights will resume from 1 July to destinations including southern Sinai, where the resorts of Sharm el-Sheikh and Dahab are located; Red Sea province, home to the Hurghada and Marsa Alam resorts and Marsa Matrouh on the Mediterranean.

The country's government said today that it will lift COVID-19 related restrictions on leisure travel to and from neighbouring Baltic and Nordic countries on 15 June. The changes will apply to visitors from Denmark, Iceland and Norway, as well as Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania - however Sweden will be excluded at this time.

International visitors arriving at V.C. Bird International Airport will now be required to pay a fee of US$100 or equivalent to cover mandatory COVID-19 testing. Depending on the results of the screenings, passengers may also be instructed to enter a government-provided quarantine facility, for which an additional fee will also be payable.

Both Canada and the U.S. have reportedly stated that the current border closure to all non-essential travel is working effectively, and that talks are in progress to extend the restriction. The date was initially set, last month, as 21 June.

The country is ending quarantine requirements for more than 20 European countries as of 16 June, its foreign minister announced today. Also lifted will be checks at its border with Italy.

The country plans to allow a resumption of flights to and from countries that have had no cases of COVID-19 for 30 days, the prime minister said today, with priority destinations including Japan, South Korea and Cambodia. Confirmation on expected dates has not yet been released and it is unclear whether arrivals from these countries will be subject to a quarantine programme that's been in place since mid-March.

From today, the country has opened its borders to citizens of 14 states, including Germany and Switzerland, who can now travel to and from Slovenia without restrictions. The other countries are Greece, Bulgaria, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Slovakia and Liechtenstein.

Today marks the official restart of tourism in some of Mexico’s most popular beach destinations. Hotels, resorts and other hospitality operators in hotspots like Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Puerto Morelos, Riviera Maya, Akumal and Tulum, have started to welcome guests again (in limited capacities), thanks to orders from Quintana Roo’s governor, Carlos Manuel Joaquín González.

The movement restrictions on entering and exiting Abu Dhabi, and travelling between its regions, has been extended for another period of at least one week starting from 9 June, authorities have announced.

China has today dropped Shanghai as one of the first ports of entry for international flights bound for the capital, Beijing. Incoming international flights to Beijing have to land at one of 16 designated airports, where passengers are screened. Passengers who test negative for the virus are then permitted to reboard the plane to Beijing.

The park is set to re-open at 07.00 (local time) on 11 June following over two months of closure. Visitors coming in for the day will need to make a reservation online ahead of time, as the park aims to keep visitor levels at around 50% of normal during the summer.

The state released guidelines today for the reopening of a range of businesses including gyms, family entertainment such as bowling, day camps and hotels. Counties can allow the reopening starting from 12 June.

The country's government has announced a new system of entry requirements effective from 15 June, with different rules for entry into the country according to three categories of countries; high, medium and low risk. This system applies to all EU countries and five other European countries including the UK. A list of those countries can be found on the Czech Ministry of Health website.

Face coverings will be compulsory for passengers on buses, trains, aircraft and ferries in England from 15 June.

From 9 June, arrivals for the purposes of tourism are to be allowed from a limited number of countries that fall under the classification of 'low-risk'. Anyone who is resident in, or has visited, countries outside of this classification in the last 14 days will not be permitted to enter - even via a third country such as Greece.

Approved travellers must take a COVID-19 swab test within 48 hours before departure and another upon arrival at their own cost, and must adhere to a controlled itinerary that is supervised by the host company or government agency for the first 14 days.
