EMIRATES: Airline among those to suspend flights to Bangladesh from 14-20 April 2021

The Dubai-based airline has announced that, in line with Bangladesh government directives, passenger flights to and from Bangladesh are to be suspended with effect from 14 April 2021 until 20 April 2021; customers travelling to and from Dhaka will not be accepted for travel. The last flight Emirates will operate before the temporary suspension of services is EK585 that is scheduled to depart from Dhaka at 01.40 (local time) on 14 April.

UNITED AIRLINES: Airline to utilise digital health 'passport' for COVID-19 test verification on Hawaii routes

SOUTHWEST AIRLINES: Airline to offer COVID-10 'preclearance' for Hawaii passengers

The U.S. airline has announced that it is the latest carrier offering a COVID-19 'preclearance' service intended to expedite arrival procedures in Hawaii, where the state screens every arriving passenger. Under Hawaii's Safe Travels program, all incoming travelers over the age of five must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test result from a state-approved provider or be subject to a 10-day self quarantine period. Now, Southwest Airlines is offering preclearance to passengers departing to Honolulu and to Kahului, on Maui, from its five California gateway cities: Oakland, San Jose, Sacramento, San Diego and Long Beach.

VIRGIN ATLANTIC: Airline to begin health pass trials from 16 April 2021

UNITED ARAB EMIRATES: Abu Dhabi Airport to offer free COVID-19 PCR testing on arrival

Abu Dhabi Airports has launched rapid, free COVID-19 PCR testing for all arrivals, alongside partners Pure Health and Tamouh Healthcare. RYANAIR: Airline to add new flight services to Greece from 1 July 2021

The low-cost airline has announced that it will begin services on three new flight routes, as well as additional services on a further five routes, between the UK and Greece from 1 July. Ryanair will offer two flights per week from Preveza to London Stansted, while there will also be two trips a week from London Stansted to Zakynthos and Santorini. At the same time, an additional flight will be added from Corfu to Manchester, Southend and East Midlands Airport, taking the total to three per week. SINGAPORE AIRLINES: Airline to begin testing IATA's 'Travel Pass' health verification app from 15 March 2021

The airline has announced that from 15 March it will begin testing the International Air Transport Association's 'Travel Pass' mobile health verification app on flights from Singapore to London; from this date, passengers on that route using Apple iOS-enabled phones will be able to download the app and create a digital identification with their photo and passport information. They also can submit flight information and book a COVID-19 test at one of seven participating clinics in Singapore, after which their test results can be viewed directly in the app. Check-in staff at Singapore's Changi airport can then verify their status via the app, which will speed up the check-in process.
