The airline has announced that it will resume flying to more destinations across its network throughout July 2020. Across the UK and Europe, the airline will return to more short haul destinations by the end of July including Austria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Norway, Portugal, Switzerland and Turkey. Domestic flights will resume between London and Belfast, Inverness, Jersey, Manchester, Newcastle and Newquay and the airline will move to double daily services to Edinburgh and Glasgow. Long-haul services set to resume include flights to a number of U.S. cities, the Caribbean, Toronto and Tokyo.

The country's transport minister has announced that Ireland will ease quarantine restrictions on people travelling from abroad on 20 July, with people arriving from a 'green list' of countries with low COVID-19 rates to be exempt from isolating themselves for 14 days. The government had previously said in June that the restrictions would be eased from 9 July, but since have delayed this due to concern about travel-related infections.

The UK government have this morning issued a press release confirming that passengers returning to or visiting England from Germany, France, Spain and Italy will no longer need to self-isolate on arrival from 10 July 2020. A further announcement is expected at around lunchtime today, 3 July, whereby a list of around 50 countries may be announced as also exempt from self-isolation requirements. The UK's devolved administrations of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are expected to set out their own requirements.

The UK government has confirmed a list of 59 countries from which visitors or returning passengers are due to be exempt from the current 14-day self-quarantine on arrival requirement in England from 10 July. The devolved administrations of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are expected to set out their own approach to exemptions seperately.

Pakistan International Airlines have suspended flights to and from the UK with immediate effect, following a decision by the EU Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) preventing the airline from operating within the EU.

Passengers returning to Switzerland from regions deemed to be at high-risk from COVID-19 will be quarantined, the country's government announced on 1 July; it will maintain and update a list of affected countries from which passengers must self-isolate for ten days beginning on 6 July. It also said it expected to follow the EU's recommendation to lift restrictions on travel from 15 countries outside Europe’s generally border-free Schengen zone, but would not lift the measures until 20 July —compared to the EU's 1 July proposal.

In addition to a number of domestic routes resuming, the airline will also in August fly 25% of its 2019 international schedule for the same month. This includes adding a number of services to the Caribbean and Mexico; in Europe, United will boost its schedule to the connecting hubs of Lufthansa Group partners including Brussels, Frankfurt, Munich and Zurich. Resumed Asian routes will include Tahiti and New Delhi, and the carrier also will add five routes to Canada plus 35 routes to Latin America.

A finalised list of 14 countries from which passengers are permitted to enter the EU’s 27 member, and four other, nations in Europe’s visa-free Schengen travel zone has been released; they are Algeria, Australia, Canada, Georgia, Japan, Montenegro, Morocco, New Zealand, Rwanda, Serbia, South Korea, Thailand, Tunisia and Uruguay. China may also soon be included if they confirm reciprocity. As expected, the U.S. is excluded for now, but the list will be reviewed every 14 days.

Airlines within the Lufthansa Group have published their summer flight schedule through to October 2020, when they will return to over 90% of short and medium haul destinations and 70% of long haul destinations compared to the same periods last year. The group’s core airline, Lufthansa, expects to be operating 150 flights on the U.S. continent each week in summer/autumn via their German hubs in Frankfurt and Munich. Around 90 flights a week are planned to Asia, over 45 to the Middle East and over 40 to Africa.

Cain International, the privately held real estate investment firm operating in Europe and the US, has signed an agreement with Oberoi, the award-winning hotel group, for the operation of 23 serviced residences at 17-22 South Audley Street, in London’s Mayfair. The Oberoi Group was established in 1934 and owns and operates 33 five-star hotels and luxury resorts across India, Indonesia, Morocco, Mauritius, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

The country's arrival testing fee is changing from 1 July - it will now be ISK 11,000 (around US$80) or ISK 9,000 (around US$65) if booked in advance. All passengers arriving via commercial flights to Iceland can chose to be tested for COVID-19 or self-isolate for 14 days upon arrival.

The country's government has imposed a stringent lockdown on the city of Leicester, a city of around 330,000 people which accounted for 10% of all positive cases in England in the past week. Non-essential shops in the city have closed today, 30 June, and schools will close for most pupils from 2 July. Non-essential travel in and out of a government-designated boundary line is also prohibited.

The Latvian government has announced that direct commercial flights between Latvia and the United Kingdom can resume. Details of flights can be found on airlines’ websites; travellers arriving in Latvia from the United Kingdom are still though required to self-isolate for 14 days.

The country's government has announced that direct flights from the UK and Sweden will not be allowed until 15 July, adding that they would use EU guidelines to determine which countries were considered at high risk of spreading COVID-19. Greece reopened its main airports in Athens and Thessaloniki to some international flights on 15 June, and will reopen all others on 1 July; flights from most other European destinations will be permitted from that date.

On 29 June Ireland entered phase three of its roadmap for easing COVID-19 lockdown restrictions; travel anywhere within the country is now permitted and most businesses can re-open. Citizens must though maintain social distancing guidelines, wear face coverings in a number of public settings and keep a log of their contacts throughout the day to assist with contact tracing.

British Airways have announced that from 3 July they will operate three direct flights per week from Tokyo Haneda Airport to the UK's London Heathrow Airport. Airlines already operating or resuming direct services between these airports include Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways. Until the end of July, all passengers arriving in Japan may be required to take a PCR test for COVID-19, and all must self-isolate for 14 days; passengers arriving in the UK must also self-isolate for 14 days.

The airline has said that it has started consultations on plans to close operating hubs at London Stansted, London Southend and Newcastle international airports; this follows a previous announcement that it may need to reduce staff numbers by up to a third because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In an update to a previous alert, while UK government ministers confirmed on 26 June that travel arrangements with selected countries would be confirmed shortly, the list of eligible 'travel corridor' participants and the date from which the system will begin has not yet been finalised. Arrivals from low-risk countries are set to be exempt from the UK's mandatory 14-day self-quarantine; reportedly, an expert panel will arrange nations in three categories within a traffic light-style system.

The Dubai-based airline has said that it will now resume passenger flights to over 50 cities in July, after announced the re-starting of additional services; flights will resume to Cairo, Egypt (from 1 July), Tunis, Tunisia (from 1 July), Glasgow, United Kingdom (from 15 July) and Malé, Maldives (from 16 July).

In an update to restrictions on international arrivals to the country, all passengers travelling in or out of Azerbaijan will require certification of a negative COVID-19 with a result issued less than 48 hours prior to the flight. Passengers with a negative result on arrival will not be required to stay in quarantine or self-isolate.
