UNITED KINGDOM: Confirmed 'travel corridor' arrangements yet to be released

In an update to a previous alert, while UK government ministers confirmed on 26 June that travel arrangements with selected countries would be confirmed shortly, the list of eligible 'travel corridor' participants and the date from which the system will begin has not yet been finalised. Arrivals from low-risk countries are set to be exempt from the UK's mandatory 14-day self-quarantine; reportedly, an expert panel will arrange nations in three categories within a traffic light-style system.

UNITED KINGDOM: Announcement of 'travel corridors' to some countries expected by 29 June 2020

The country's government is expected to make an announcement by 29 June on the introduction of a series of 'travel corridors', which will allow passengers from qualifying countries to arrive into the UK without the need to self-quarantine. The first corridors are speculated to be due to come into force from 4 July, however this is by no means confirmed; countries that could be eligible include France, Italy, Spain, Greece, Belgium, Germany, Norway, the Netherlands, Turkey and Finland.

INDIA: Turkey visa centre in New Delhi now accepting visa applications

The Turkey visa application centre in New Delhi, India is now accepting long stay (student, work and resident permit) applications, as confirmed by Gateway Management, a visa management company authorized by the Turkish government. Travellers would require a prior appointment to visit the centre for submission of applications.

FINLAND: Entry and quarantine restrictions to end for some visitors from 13 July 2020

From 13 July all travel restrictions and mandatory 14-day quarantine for tourist arrivals from qualifying European countries will end, but only if their COVID-19 infection rates remain at current levels. Based on current infection numbers, countries that could qualify include Italy, Germany, Austria, Greece, Switzerland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary, Lichtenstein, Croatia, Cyprus and Ireland - but this is subject to change. The travel restrictions and quarantine rule will though remain in place for travellers from neighbouring Sweden.

ETIHAD: Airline to provide transit services to 13 European destinations from early July 2020

In an update to previous announcements about the resumption of flight routes via a special Abu Dhabi transit service, Etihad has confirmed that they will connect passengers to a total of 13 European destinations from early July. Destination cities include Amsterdam, Athens, Barcelona, Brussels, Dublin, Frankfurt, Geneva, Istanbul, London, Madrid, Milan, Paris and Zurich. They hope to increase their network even further from 16 July and are working closely alongside the UAE authorities to do so.

TURKISH AIRLINES: Airline continues to resume flights to North American destinations

Turkey's national airline is continuing to resume flights to an increasing number of North American destinations, after our previous bulletin on services resuming to Chicago, Washington and Miami this past weekend. Flights to Los Angeles will start tomorrow, 25 June; New York and Toronto will follow on 1 July; San Francisco, Montreal and Houston are currently set to follow later in July.

EMIRATES: Airline to resume flying their Airbus A380 aircraft from 15 July 2020

The Dubai-based airline is set to resume flights to London Heathrow and Paris using their highly popular, flagship Airbus A380 from 15 July - hailed as the world's largest and most spacious passenger aircraft. SPAIN: Arrivals from the United Kingdom not required to self-quarantine

EUROSTAR: Passport-less boarding to be introduced by March 2021

The cross-channel rail operator is preparing to introduce facial recognition technology by March 2021 that will allow passengers to board international services without their passport. KLM: Airline to increase scheduled flights in July and August 2020

The Netherlands-based airline KLM, a subsidiary of Air France-KLM, is planning to increase the number of passenger flights that it will operate in July and August, as travel restrictions related to COVID-19 begin to ease. In a statement, the airline said it would operate 6,900 passenger flights in July and 13,100 in August - that compares with around 22,000 flights per month in the summer months of 2019.

TURKISH AIRLINES: Flights to United States resumed from 19 June 2020

The airline resumed flights to the U.S. on the evening of 19 June, after a suspension of more than two months; two planes bound for Washington D.C. and Chicago took off from Istanbul at around 18.00 GMT. RIU: All hotels in Spain set to re-open
