Thailand continues tourism reopening despite spiking Covid-19 cases

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has confirmed a further extension to its reopening plans with the Phuket Sandbox 7+7 programme. The new system will provide fully-vaccinated international travellers with even more options to visit multiple Thai destinations bringing back the opportunity to enjoy multicentre, island-hopping itineraries, without the need to quarantine.The decision, however, comes against a backdrop of Thailand being added to the red list in the UK.

UNITED STATES: Ireland to lift quarantine for Americans

As of July 19, U.S. visitors who have been vaccinated, have a negative PCR test within 72 hours of arrival or have recovered from COVID-19 in the last six months will be able to visit Ireland and they will not have to quarantine.

CUBA: Country's government mandates five-day COVID-19 quarantine for arriving passengers

The UK's Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) has published updated information for Cuba to reflect that since 6 February, the country has been requiring most international arrivals to quarantine for five days upon arrival, with the exception of those that are part of an organised tour group; business travellers are not exempt from this measure, which also includes COVID-19 testing on day three with results by day five. The Cuban government has created a list of approved quarantine hotels for tourists arriving in the country, with costing up to $846 (USD) per person with airport transfers and three meals a day. All passengers are also required to present proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test result on arrival, obtained no more than no 72 hours prior to arrival.

Active-travel company Backroads has said that it is launching a category of trips designed for first-time adventure travelers or those seeking easier options; the operator's new Dolce Tempo segment offers 29 'easygoing' itineraries of e-bike, walking and multi-adventure trips. SANPARKS: South Africa's Kruger National Park to open some camps from 14 August 2020

Following the announcement by the country's minister of tourism that intra-provincial travel will now be open to South African nationals, South African National Parks (SANParks) has announced that Kruger National Park (KNP) will partially open some of its camps for accommodation from 14 August.
