TURKEY: International borders to re-open from 12 June 2020

From today the Turkish government has started to re-open its international land, sea and air borders. All passengers, of all nationalities, who meet immigration rules are permitted entry and scheduled passenger flights will now resume on an individual country basis.

FRANCE: Border restrictions for EU travellers to be lifted from 15 June 2020

The country’s government announced today it will lift restrictions at its borders for EU travellers plus arrivals from Andorra, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Norway, San Marino, and Switzerland from 15 June. Restrictions, though, including a fortnight quarantine upon arrival, will continue to apply at the borders with Spain and with the UK.

ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA: Visitors required to pay COVID-19 testing fee

International visitors arriving at V.C. Bird International Airport will now be required to pay a fee of US$100 or equivalent to cover mandatory COVID-19 testing. Depending on the results of the screenings, passengers may also be instructed to enter a government-provided quarantine facility, for which an additional fee will also be payable.

TURKISH AIRLINES: Flights resume to London Heathrow from 11 June 2020

From today, the airline will resume a twice-daily service between Istanbul Airport and London Heathrow. Flight TK1979 will depart from Istanbul at 08.20 each morning; the return service, TK1980, will depart London Heathrow at 12.50.

VIRGIN AUSTRALIA: Increased domestic flights and new safety and well being measures

The airline is set to double current capacity by early July, adding approximately 30,000 seats across 320 flights per week to its domestic schedule. FINLAND: Border restrictions on most neighbouring countries to be lifted on 15 June 2020

The country's government said today that it will lift COVID-19 related restrictions on leisure travel to and from neighbouring Baltic and Nordic countries on 15 June. The changes will apply to visitors from Denmark, Iceland and Norway, as well as Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania - however Sweden will be excluded at this time.

The airline has announced that the tier status for Executive Club members has been extended for a full year, as of today, as a thank you for the loyalty of their customers. The number of Tier Points needed to reach each tier (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Gold Guest List) will also reduce by 25% for the year after the 12-month extension.
