Travellers from Greater Sydney, the Central Coast, Blue Mountains, Wollongong and Shellharbour will now be locked out of Queensland from 1am on Thursday 24 June after the state expanded its list of hot spots late on Wednesday in line with New South Wales restrictions. Anyone who has been in any of these local government areas will not be allowed to enter Queensland unless they are a returning resident or qualify as having an essential purpose.

From 12:01am 22 June 2021, arrivals who have been in the LGAs of Randwick City; Bayside; Canada Bay; Inner West; City of Sydney; and Woollahra in the 14 days prior to arrival in South Australia (but not before 11 June 2021) are subject to modified Level 3 requirements including; COVID-19 testing on days 1, 5 and 13, self-quarantine until they’ve had the first COVID-19 test (not test result), no entry to high-risk settings for 14 days, no entry to COVID Management Plan events where more than 1000 people are likely to attend for 14 days. Arrivals who have been at a New South Wales COVID-19 case location or Waverley Council area in the 14 days prior to their arrival continue to be banned from entering SA.

WA has upgraded NSW to a 'medium risk' destination, meaning that travel from (and through) is not permitted as of 11am AWST 23 Jun 21. Anyone who has been in NSW since 11 June will not be permitted to travel to WA.

Sydney's LGA hotspots will be declared high-risk (Level 2) from 4pm today (Wednesday 23 June). Anyone who has spent time in these areas on or since 11 June, including returning Tasmanians, will not be permitted to enter Tasmania unless approved as an essential traveller. From this time, Tasmanian residents can apply for essential traveller status. If approved, quarantine is required in a suitable premises if available or in a government-designated accommodation at their own cost.

Victorian residents who have been to any of the LGA hotspots can return home, but will have to quarantine at home for 14 days. Non-Victorian residents cannot enter the state if they have been to any of the listed LGAs. Wollongong has now been declared an orange zone. Travellers can apply to enter Victoria, but must get tested and isolate until receiving a negative result.

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has added six new Sydney LGAs to its COVID hotspot areas after Waverly was declared on Friday. Anyone entering Queensland after 1am tomorrow (24 Jun 21) must quarantine for two weeks in a hotel if they have been in The City of Sydney, Woollahra, Bayside, Canada Bay, Inner West or Randwick.

The New Zealand Government has announced the suspension of quarantine-free travel from New South Wales (Sydney) to New Zealand for 72 hours from NZT 11.59 pm, Tuesday 22 June 2021. Quarantine-free travel from New Zealand to NSW continues.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand has set out its complete guidelines for the Phuket Sandbox reopening on the 1st of July 2021. All visitors to Phuket must: Obtain a Certificate of Entry at entrythailand.go.th after arriving from a medium- to low-risk country, regardless of vaccination. Be fully vaccinated at least two weeks before departure to Thailand. Present a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of departure. Take out COVID-19 health insurance with a minimum coverage of US$100 000. Take another COVID-19 test upon arrival. If travellers want to move around Thailand after they have stayed in Phuket, they must wait 14 days before moving out of Phuket. Travellers will also need to show proof that the 14-day arrival stay was completed in Phuket.

From 1am on Saturday 19 June 2021 all travellers entering Queensland, regardless of origin, will be required to complete a Travel Declaration to enter the state in addition to the current Border Declaration required by those travelling from a COVID-19 hot spot. Upon arrival to Queensland you must present your pass to an Emergency Officer when requested to do so.

Queensland’s chief medical officer has declared Sydney’s local government area of Waverley, which includes Bondi Beach, a hot spot following more positive cases on Friday. Any Queensland residents, or NSW residents, entering the state after 1am on Saturday, who have been in the Waverley LGA area, will have to quarantine for two week in a hotel.

Anyone who has visited a high-risk location in New South Wales will be banned from entering South Australia from this afternoon (Thursday 17 June 2021). South Australians who have been at the high-risk locations, and are still in New South Wales, should isolate and contact SA Health before travelling home. High-risk locations are those identified on the NSW Health website.

The quarantine-free travel pause between NZ and Victoria has been extended an additional 5 days until at least 11.59pm NZT on Tuesday 22 June.

Restrictions on people from entering Queensland from Greater Melbourne will remain in place for a further 7 days. From 1am on Saturday 19 June 2021 all travellers, regardless of origin, will be required to complete a Travel Declaration to enter the state in addition to the current Border Declaration required by those travelling from a COVID-19 hot spot. It is recommended to reconsider travel to Greater Sydney due to the current COVID-19 outbreak. At this stage no restrictions on travel to or from NSW are in place.

The Latvian airline has launched a new weekly summer seasonal flight service between Riga and the Greek island of Corfu; the new route is performed in cooperation with partner Mouzenidis Travel, and will operate once per week on an Airbus A220-300 aircraft.

The government of Portugal has announced in a press release that effective immediately, its borders are open to all U.S. passengers who can present proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test result obtained within 72 hours prior to departure, or a negative antigen test result obtained within 24 hours of departure.

The governor of the U.S. state of New York announced yesterday, 15 June, that he had lifted all state-mandated COVID-19 restrictions after reporting that 70% of the state's adults have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Among many others, industry-specific measures which were immediately lifted included capacity limits of 50% for retailers, 33% for gyms and the lesser of 33% or 100 people for movie theatres.

The country's government has announced that South Africa will move to COVID-19 alert level 'three' from 00.01 (local time) on 16 June; during this time a curfew will be in place between 22.00 and 04.00 (local time) daily, in addition to a requirement for face masks. Non-essential establishments such as restaurants, bars and fitness centers must also close by 21:00 in light of the curfew. All gatherings will be limited to a maximum of 50 people indoors and 100 people outdoors.; this includes religious services, political events, social gatherings; as well as restaurants, bars, taverns and similar places. There will also be strict controls on the sale of alcohol.

The German low-cost airline, a subsidiary of the Lufthansa Group, has announced that it is expanding its European network with the opening of a new base in Prague. Initially stationing two Airbus A320 aircraft in the Czech capital from October - by the summer of 2022, three aircraft will take off for Eurowings with Prague becoming the tenth Eurowings base in Europe. This means that for the first time, the Lufthansa Group subsidiary will then be able to offer non-stop connections from Prague to business and holiday destinations throughout Europe.

Namibia has announced tight measures to limit the spread of coronavirus after a recent spike in infections and deaths. President Hage Geingob has announced a two-week lockdown of Windhoek from 16 June 2021. No movement will be allowed in and out of the capital for the duration, with certain exemptions including returning residents, essential service providers in possession of a relevant permit, emergency medical cases and the transportation of human remains to other regions for burial purposes. Further restrictions on gatherings, curfews and sale of alcohol has been put in place.

The airline has announced that has from today, 15 June, introduced a completely new 'Business Light' ticket category, as well as renewing other ticket types. Passengers can choose a ticket from three types – 'Light', 'Classic' and 'Flex' – that are available for both business and economy class for all short-haul and most intercontinental journeys. When booking a ticket, passengers select the travel class experience they prefer and the level of flexibility for making reservation changes – along with some additional services included in the ticket.
