QLD has declared all of Victoria as a hotspot, coming into affect on Saturday, 17 July 2021. Anyone who has been to a hotspot in the last 14 days or since their identified start date (whichever is shorter) will not be allowed to enter QLD, unless they are a QLD resident or have an exemption. Anyone allowed to enter will need to go into hotel quarantine.

The mask mandate that was due to end on Friday, 16 July 2021 at 06:00am in Queensland has been extended by another week in the following LGAs; Brisbane City Council, Logan, Moreton Bay, Ipswich, Redlands, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Noosa, Somerset, Lockyer Valley and Scenic Rim. Restrictions will ease for Townsville, Magnetic Island and Palm Island as planned on Friday, 16 July 2021 at 06:00am.

Quarantine-free travel from Victoria to New Zealand will pause from 1:59am (NZT) on Friday, 16 July 2021. The Government will review the pause on Monday, 19 July 2021. Anyone who has been in the state of Victoria after 1:59am (NZT) on Friday, 16 July cannot travel to New Zealand from anywhere in Australia until further notice. If you're in Victoria, follow local health guidance. If you have been at a location of interest, you cannot travel to New Zealand from anywhere in Australia until 14 days after you were at the location of interest.

Cruise ships will be allowed back into Canadian waters sooner than expected, with the federal government announcing the ban will be lifted as of Nov. 1, 2021.

From midnight on Thursday, 15 July 2021, travellers arriving in the state from Melbourne, Geelong and Bacchus Marsh will need to quarantine for two weeks. Anyone coming from other parts of the VIC will need to undergo testing on days one, five and 13, but will not have to isolate once they get their first test result. Plans to lift border restrictions with South East Queensland have been cancelled, but testing requirements will be lifted for people coming from Townsville and Birdsville.

The Chief Health Officer has declared a number of hotspots across Victoria from Saturday, 10 July 2021 for the purposes of travel to the Northern Territory. This date aligns with the period of time people were in the community while infectious. Anyone travelling to the Northern Territory who has been in a COVID-19 hotspot in Victoria since Saturday, 10 July 2021 and arrives in the Northern Territory after 5pm on Wednesday, 15 July 2021, will be required to undertake 14 days of mandatory supervised quarantine at the Alice Springs or Howard Springs quarantine facilities.

The current lockdown in NSW has been extended until 11.59pm on Friday, 30 July 2021 and this direction applies to people who live in, usually work in, or usually attend a university or other tertiary education facility in Greater Sydney including the Blue Mountains, Central Coast, Wollongong and Shellharbour local government areas.

From 12:01am on Wednesday, 15 July 2021, all travellers including essential travellers and permitted arrivals (returning SA residents and people genuinely relocating, and people escaping domestic violence) entering SA from Greater Melbourne are subject to Level 1 requirements. These include having a COVID-19 test within 24 hours after their arrival and no entry to high-risk settings until receiving a negative result. All travellers going to SA must first complete a Cross Border Travel Registration. Travellers must complete a separate Cross Border Travel Registration for each person in the travelling party, including all children.

Anyone arriving into WA from Victoria will need to self-quarantine for 14 days and be tested on arrival, following an immediate change in health advice. The WA government announced Victoria would transition from a "very low-risk" to a "low-risk" jurisdiction. Jurisdictions considered low-risk are permitted to enter Western Australia without an exemption but are subject to strict conditions including COVID-19 testing and self-quarantine. Travellers who have been in Victoria or have travelled through Victoria will need to quarantine for 14 days and present for a COVID-19 test on arrival and on day 11. In addition, anyone who was at any exposure site in Victoria and has since travelled to Western Australia is required to get tested immediately and self-quarantine for 14 days from the date of exposure. All recent arrivals from Victoria should monitor for symptoms and present for testing immediately if any develop.

From 11:59pm on Wednesday, 14 July 2021, if you live in Victoria then face masks must be carried at all times and must be worn indoors, by anyone aged 12 years and over. Face masks must be worn outdoors where physical distancing of at least 1.5 metres cannot be maintained from others (except household members or intimate partners), for example, at a busy open-air market or a bus stop. You do not need to wear a mask in your own home, or if a lawful exception applies.

Emirates’ flights from South Africa will remain suspended until 21 July 2021, in line with government directives that restrict the entry of travellers originating from South Africa into the UAE. Daily passenger flights to Johannesburg will operate as EK763; however, outbound passenger services on EK 764 remain suspended. Customers who have been to or connected through South Africa in the last 14 days will not be permitted on any Emirates flights bound for Dubai. Affected flight bookings have been cancelled.

Given the uncertainty of the expected length of the recently adjusted LEVEL 4 lockdown, restriction of travel in and out of Gauteng coupled with the rampant transmissibility of the COVID-19 “Delta” variant, kulula.com will be suspending flight operations further, until 31 August 2021. South Australia's border restrictions with South East Queensland, including Brisbane, will relax from midnight on Friday, 16 July 2021. From then, people traveling to South Australia will need to be tested on days one, five and 13 but will not have to quarantine. People who are in home quarantine after returning from the region will also be able to leave their homes from midnight on Friday, 16 July 2021.

Quarantine-free travel from Queensland to New Zealand will resume from 11:59pm (NZT) on Monday, 12 July 2021. ‘Return green flights’ from Queensland, which began on Saturday, 10 July 2021 (NZT), will stop once regular quarantine-free flights begin.

Finnair will offer non-stop flight on routes from Arlanda, Stockholm in Sweden to Bangkok and Phuket in Thailand and Miami in the United States this winter. All three routes will be operated with an Airbus A350 aircraft offering a smooth and modern travel experience. As of October 22nd, Finnair flies from Arlanda to Bangkok five times a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays

airBaltic has launched new scheduled flights between Manchester and Riga, Latvia. The Latvian airline now connects both cities with two weekly flights. Martin Gauss, chief executive of airBaltic, said: “Riga is a dynamic city and the key business centre of the Baltic states and has a lot to offer to both business and leisure travellers.

The Acting Chief Health Officer of Victoria has declared that all of New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory will become a red zone under Victoria’s travel permit system at 11:59pm Sunday, 11 July. This means the Victorian border is effectively closed to New South Wales and the ACT – except for Victorian residents returning on a red zone permit for 14 days of quarantine, and for people with exemptions, exceptions or other valid permits (such as specified workers and cross-border residents).

Travellers from EU and Schengen countries will be able to enter Finland without any additional health safety measures from July 12th. That is if they are fully vaccinated, have had a Covid-19 infection before, were born in 2006 or later or arrive from a country with low virus incidence. Those with one vaccination only are instructed to take a Covid-19 test earliest 72 hours after arrival to Finland, and those without any vaccinations are required in addition to have a negative test result before departure to Finland or a test on arrival.
